Giving
There is an increasing demand for high quality Christian video content, but the limited financial resources of most churches in the UK makes this difficult to meet. Enough regular financial support will enable me to continue to create content for Christian individuals, churches and organisations in Wales and the UK (either free of charge or at an affordable price, depending on the client), as well as my own content, including documentaries and a weekly interview series. See below for full details of planned projects.
My aim is to raise £3,000 per month. Please prayerfully consider giving, as an individual, church or organisation. Any donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated, and will help me carry out the work I believe I have been called to. Elders and friends at my church (Bradley Road Church, Wrexham) have kindly agreed to provide support and accountability for my work.
You can give via my Stewardship page, a Christian organisation that provides a simple and transparent means of online giving, and allows the addition of Gift Aid on top of whatever you give.
PLANNED PROJECTS
Your donations will help make possible the following projects. Some of these are my own initiatives and ideas, and others are projects I have been approached by others about, and have been asked to create, but the funding for them isn't presently available.
Documentaries
I currently have two documentary projects planned.
Scottish Awakenings will tell the story of God’s work in Scotland, from its earliest days to the present, with an all-Scottish cast – written by Tom Lennie, and featuring about 15 experts in Scottish church history. Here is a fundraising video for the project, featuring Iver Martin (Principal of Edinburgh Theological Seminary), Tom Lennie (author of four books covering Scotland's revival history), and David Meredith (Mission Director of the Free Church of Scotland):
A Nation On A Hill: 8-part series on the story of the Pilgrim Fathers and the founding of America, covering two centuries beginning with the Mayflower crossing, tracing the formation of the New England colonies, culminating in the War of Independence.
Video Podcast
An in-person Christian video podcast serving the churches of Wales specifically but also the rest of the UK. It would be filmed around the country, and covering a number of areas including:
-
Conversations with pastors and Christian workers in Wales, both well-known and working in relative obscurity, about their ministries, their church and the community
-
Authors with new books coming out
-
Theological, societal and political matters
-
Debates between differing views on secondary matters
Bilingual Testimonies
A donation has been given towards creating videos of bilingual Christians in Wales with a story to tell about how they came to the Lord Jesus. These testimonies would be shared online and also given out on DVDs to the public at outreach events e.g. at the National Eisteddfod. This amount would only cover the cost of a couple of these videos, so more funding is required.
For Hire
Here are examples of projects people have recently approached me about:
-
A short documentary about the history of the Old Meetinghouse in Norwich, a Puritan chapel established in 1643, and the oldest non-conformist chapel in Britain still open, pre-dating the Congregationalists, Baptists and Methodists. The purpose of the video is to raise awareness around the world of the heritage of the chapel, to encourage prayer and financial support, as well as a new pastor, all of which they urgently need if they are to remain open.
-
An online course on Christian counselling, by an experienced and respected worker in that field.
-
Two people independently approached me about similar ideas – a Welsh-language Christianity Explored, and an evangelistic series using Welsh church history to illustrate gospel truths. Both these ideas could be combined.
-
Hywel Meredydd Davies, pastor of Capel Cildwrn (Christmas Evans’ chapel) would like to collaborate on further video content. We recently produced two videos which have been very well received:
A lecture about the life and ministry of John Elias, by Rhodri Glyn
A Modern Barnabas: In Conversation with Stuart Olyott
COMMENDATIONS
“Dan has a wonderful vision for producing Christian media. He is using his gifts to the glory of God, with productions that are not only high quality, but proving to be a blessing to the churches of Wales and beyond. His work to date leads me to eagerly anticipate what is yet to come. Let there be much more and may it further stimulate in the Lord’s people a hunger to know more of Him.”
Rev James Allan
Pastor of Hebron Evangelical Church, Dowlais,
Chairman of AECW, Chairman of the EMW Aberystwyth Conference
“I have known Dan for many years, and I’ve chosen to use his production skills on a regular basis for a range of Christian ministries. Without exception these have been highly professional, accomplished pieces of work, completed on time, economically, and meeting the intended outcomes of the programmes. Some of these have taken advantage of Dan’s Welsh language skills also. He has a deep desire to be used as a servant to seek to glorify God. In a world where digital productions require the highest quality of work, Dan wants to make his excellent services accessible to even the smallest of churches and fellowships. This appeal is the next step in his mission to provide much needed gospel materials at practical, affordable and highly professional resources."
